English Stand-Up Comedy in Kazakhstan
started by Shugyla Sagynbekova, the 1st Kazakh female comedian ever post her comedy special in English on YouTube. Overall she organized 20+ English OpenMics in 4 cities (Karaganda, Astana, Almaty, Baku). About 40-60 attendees visit every show. She also has built a community of 40+ comedians who regularly perform together with her. She also pioneered in organising All Women LineUps in Astana!
The history of English Comedy Kz
Shugyla was rarely performing at avalaible OpenMics in Astana. In August 2022 she won the cash prize at her first English Money Mic and later she started doing the shows by herself.
